Full Description

Your day begins with pickup at your hotel or accommodation in Lisbon. As you travel through the city, your driver introduces Lisbon’s history – from its Roman and Moorish roots to the powerful maritime capital of the 15th and 16th centuries.

We explore the historic districts of Alfama, Baixa and Chiado, where you can walk through narrow streets, tiled façades and elegant squares rebuilt after the 1755 earthquake. There is time to stop at viewpoints, take photos and feel the atmosphere of everyday Lisbon life.

In the afternoon the tour continues towards Belém, the district most closely associated with Portugal’s Age of Discoveries. Here you will see landmarks such as the Jerónimos Monastery, the Belém Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries. If you wish, you can choose to visit the interior of one of these monuments (entrance tickets not included), while your driver waits nearby.

There will also be time to taste the famous Pastéis de Belém or enjoy a relaxed coffee by the river. At the end of the day you are comfortably dropped back at your accommodation, with a richer understanding of Lisbon and its stories.
